Porto Martins surf spot is one of the greatest surf spots in Terceira. The spot has 3 point breaks on a rocky seafloor, two left handers, one being very long with a tubular section, the other being short and tubular. There is also a short but fun right hander.

This spot works best with north and northeast swells. The spot can also work with northwest swells but requires bigger swell and longer wave periods. Also occasionally it works with south swell. North and northwest winds provide the best conditions (offshore winds). Autumn, winter and spring seasons are the best time of the year to surf here.
